<p><span style="color: #000000">We have completed our Terra Nova testing. Thanks so much for getting your children here promptly each day. I was very pleased with their testing behavior this week, and everyone worked very hard!</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000">Victory Drill and MFF will resume their regular schedule every day next week.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: Tempus Sans ITC">            </span>Our Second Grade Chapel Program will take place next Wednesday, the 25</span><sup><span style="font-family: Tempus Sans ITC;color: #000000;font-size: small">th</span></sup><span style="color: #000000"> @ 8:40 a.m. <span style="font-family: Tempus Sans ITC"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">I hope you can join us!</span></strong> Your children just need to wear nice clothes that morning, unless I have mentioned something particular to you for your child. I will be in the Sanctuary, so please bring your child there, instead of the classroom. They can pile their backpacks in the narthex during chapel. <p><strong>Goals:  </strong>These people have met their 75% goal or higher!!!!!      Hope, Sydney, Daniela, Kayla, Jasmine, Tim, Kristen, Colby, Isaac, Hannah, and Natalie      Way to go, my little turkeys!!!  The rest of you need to be reading every night for at least 20 minutes to reach your goal of 75% by May 4th!  Your reading grade will be affected if you are not reading.</p>

Our plan is to sort, label and put the donated socks into bags by type and size.<span style="font-family: Tempus Sans ITC">  I then need a volunteer to take the socks to the Food Bank/Clothes Closet on Dino Drive in Elk Grove. <p>     This week has been another wet and wild one. The Speech meet went splendily, I am so proud of the children. Looking over their scores, it seems that they did very well. I would like to congratulate the winners: Poetry &#8211; Kyle Fedor, Fables &#8211; Onnika DeBusk, Bible &#8211; Christopher Sargent. Thank you so much for your extra support in getting them ready to perform their speeches. </p>
<p>      The field trip to see Young Thomas Edison was very good. The children were well behaved and enjoyed the production. Many thank &#8220;yous&#8221; go out to my parents for their willingness to drive and chaperon during the play.</p>
<p>     Coming up next week is one of my favorite weeks of the year &#8211; Holy Week. You are always welcome to join us for any of our special activities that we have planned throughout the week. Here is a schedule of the upcoming events:</p>

<p><strong>Terra Nova:</strong> This is the new name of our SAT&#8217;s. We will be taking a practice TerraNova test on Tuesday, April 3rd. Our actual testing will begin after Easter break. We will have 4 days of testing beginning April 17 and ending on Friday, April 20th.</p>

We will be having our all school Palm Processional on Monday, viewing the movie Three Trees on Tuesday, and enjoying a Seder Meal on Thursday. <p><span style="font-family: Calibri"><span style="color: #000000"><strong>Language Arts:  </strong>We have selected our topics for our research papers and reviewed selecting and analyzing sources.  Three sources are due on Monday, one of which must be a book, professional journal, or article.  We will begin outlining and writing our research papers.     </span></span></p>

<p><strong>BIBLE:</strong> Students will look at the life and works of Paul as we continue our study of the school theme, Jesus is the Light of the World. Parts will also be assigned for our Seder meal on Thursday, 4/5.</p>
<p><strong>LANGUAGE ARTS</strong>: We will continue our work with myths, legends, yarns, and folktales. Most students are making great progress toward reaching their AR goal. Thanks for your help!</p>
<p><strong>HISTORY</strong>: Chapter 18 will be a study of Reconstruction. The test on this chapter will be given on Tuesday, 3/27.</p>
<p><strong>LATIN</strong>: <span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: Verdana"> </span>Students are expected to have 4 tests done by Friday, 3/30.</span></p>
